“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
Hunter S. Thompson

Pay no registration or application fees until you reach Thailand.  Then request an appointment to speak to one of our counselors at our Volunteer Center in Bangkok.  Fill out the no obligation application form on this website.  If your app is accepted we'll confirm your appointment.  At the volunteer house, read testimonials and browse photo albums from our placement schools.  Find out what's expected of you.

The fact is, our partner schools expect us to screen volunteers.  And that's what we do.  We'll tell you if we think you're right for the program.

Should the program meet your expectations.  You can sign up on the spot.  If not, you can leave it there.  Absolutely no obligation.

You can choose your placement in either Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Chumphon, Kanchanaburi, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Saraburi or Sisaket.  All schools have been hand selected and have been in our program for at least two years.

You will pay only $US 60 per week for the first 4 weeks; and just $20 a week if you wish to stay longer.  You may also transfer from one school to another after a minimum stay of two weeks at your previous school.

Then before you leave the Volunteer House on your first visit, you will receive a complete teaching and cultural orientation from an experienced teacher.

Volunteachthailand is based completely in Thailand so its fees are a fraction of those charged by firms based in the West.  However, it also is the local placement agency for some of Europe's largest companies.  So we understand Western standards.

And we do know this:  volunteering your time to teach English to students in a Thai school in a well managed program should be neither complicated or expensive.  Come and talk to us and get to know us better.

For those wishing or requiring extra support, we recommend beginning the program in Chiang Rai where extra staffing provides additional support.

Volunteers receive free accommodation at a partner school along with lunch during the teaching week.  They also receive a complete teaching/cultural orientation from an experienced native English teacher who has taught at all levels of the Thai system.  Support will be provided by Skype, telephone and email throughout the volunteer's stay in the program.
