About Us

Volunteachthailand is a volunteer placement agency headquartered in Thailand.  It places volunteers from America, Europe and Australia in 20 cities in Thailand.  As well as offering services directly to the public, Volunteacthailand is the local placement agency for two international placement agencies based in Europe.

It has a volunteer house in Bangkok and Chiang Rai, which is the center of its main placement activities.  Since 2008 it has placed more than 3000 clients.  References from volunteers, school officials and local Board of Education are available on request.

Our placement staff select and maintain relationships with schools they have hand-selected.  The training staff provide volunteers with individual, one-on-one orientations.  They are given a teaching strategy; lesson plans; and voice training to achieve positive results in a short time.

The head of school placements/liaison with the partner schools is a former senior administrator in the Thai school system.  Most recently, she was head of the international studies department at Bangkok’s largest private high school.  This experience allows her to understand the expectations of school management and the pressure from local school board’s to meet regional and national standards.

The head of teacher training has spent five years in the Thai educational system.  Most recently he was head of English at a Bangkok vocational college. Before that he tutored English to PhD candidate students at Bangkok’s Kasetstart University.  He has also taught at city and rural primary and secondary schools as well as private business English schools.
